Somalia attends a session of Arab Interior Ministers’ Council

TUNISIA – Somalia has participated in the 39th session of the Arab Interior Ministers Council, which has kicked off on Wednesday in the Tunisian capital amid conflicts in the continental bloc.

The Somali delegation was headed by Minister of internal security Abdullahi Mohamed Nur who was invited to the meeting that focused on a number of topics on the agenda.

Nur held a meeting on the sidelines of the session with a number of Arab leaders, including Tunisian president Kais Saied, his Egyptian and Iraqi counterparts.

During the meeting, the Tunisian President praised the effective role and great efforts exerted by the Arab Interior Ministers Council in order to preserve the security and safety of the Arab countries and their people.

The minister briefed the conference about the current political and security situation in Somalia and appealed for aid as the Horn of Africa nation faces election and drought crisis.
