Blasts rock Somali military base in central region

BELEDWEYNE, Somalia -  Two Suicide bombings ripped through the central city of Beledweyne, the capital of the Hiran region which has been the staging base of the ongoing anti-al-Shabaab push.

A witness said two explosions were carried out by Al-Shabaab bombers who rammed their explosives-laden trucks at Lama-Galay military camp early in the morning, during the rush hour.

The blasts were followed by gunfire at the base, where the Somali military used to coordinate the offensive aimed at flushing out Al-Shabaab from the entire region with the support of locals.
