MOGADISHU, Somalia - A powerful explosion took place tonight in Mogadishu, especially on the Trepiano road, which resulted in various casualties, witnesses said.

The blast was caused by a car on the side of the road, and the police closed the road which is very busy all the time. The number of casualties is not yet known.

At the scene where the explosion took place, wrecked cars were seen while the ambulances were on the site of the incident taking away the wounded to nearby hospitals.
