MOGADISHU, Somalia - A landmine explosion was heard in most neighborhoods of Mogadishu, the Somali capital on Tuesday morning, the latest in a series of insecurity incidents in the country.

The eyewitnesses said the remote=controlled roadside blast struck a military escorting convoy near the busy Tarabuunka intersection in Mogadishu during the morning rush hours.

At least two civilians were killed in the attack as confirmed by witnesses who were at the scene at the time and several others sustained a variety of wounds and were taken to a nearby hospital.

Some reports say that a car carrying soldiers from the country's national army [SNA] was targeted on the road that connects the ministry of defense.
