LONDON, UK - Somali President Hassan Sheikh arrived in London on Sunday, having flown from Washington, the capital of the United States, where he has been on a visit since last week.

Hassan Sheikh will be among the world leaders attending Monday the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, who died on the 8th of this month at Balmoral Castle, at the age of 96.

HE president Hassan Sheikh has today arrived in London, United Kingdom to join other fellow world leaders to attend Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral. The President will then proceed back to New York, USA to participate in the UNGA77," said Villa Somalia.

He wrote a tribute to the Queen in a condolence book at the Somali embassy in London upon his arrival.

The UK is one of the partner countries that provide financial and military support to Somalia and has a base in Baidoa, 250Km northwest of Mogadishu, where it trains soldiers from the SNA.
