Somalia’s military court executes two ISIL operatives

MOGADISHU, Somalia - The Somali Armed Forces Court on Wednesday morning executed three ISIS fighters after being convicted of murder in 2018 and 2019 in Mogadishu and Bosaso cities.

Aden Mohamed Ali Mohamud and Mohamed Ali Mohamed Farah were members of the Islamic State-affiliated group based in Puntland's Galgala mountains under Abdulkadir Mumin's command.

They were executed at General Kahiye police academy in the capital by a firing squad after serving several years in prison, according to a military court judge, who announced the execution.

It's the 5th execution against Al-Shabaab and ISIS members in a week. It comes amid concerns by human rights organizations over the rise in killings through hasty court decisions.
