Somali government officials and members of the Federal Parliament have condemned the killing of the governor by Al-Shabaab which claimed responsibility for the bomb attack.

The financial aid is specially meant to support the Somali people who are suffering, especially those who have a shortage of food, water, and other services in the field of health.

ATMIS Force Commander Diomede Ndegeya said the centres, which were opened across the AU mission's areas of responsibility, will enable the allied forces to work together. 

Uganda which has the largest contingent in the AU mission in Somalia [ATMIS, formerly AMISOM] is a key partner in Somalia's quest for stability as UPDF protects the palace, its port, and the airport.

Yusuf said the government has also launched cyber operations against "terrorist accounts" on social media and had suspended more than 40 on Facebook and Twitter.

The basin stretches from the Kenya-Somalia border to the boundary with Tanzania and the government was banking on its vastness to secure Kenya's oil production wells.

On 1st October, US military killed a founder of Al-Shabaab named Abdullahi Nadir in a drone strike near Jilib within the Middle Jubba region, the main stronghold of the group in southern Somalia.
