Last week, the ministries of foreign affairs of Somalia and Kenya have recently announced they are in the final stages to implement the aviation deal within two weeks.

At the end of the meeting, the two ministers agreed to update the memoranda of understanding (MoUs) signed between Egypt and Somalia in 2015.

Somali leaders both at Federal and regional levels often disagree on issues related to the share of the country's resources, mainly the oil and fishing deals signed by the Somali government.

The call comes as the Somali army along with pro-government militia driven out the militant group from dozens of key villages in Hiran, Galgadud, and the Middle Shabelle region in an ongoing war.
