Local residents appealed to the UN and the government of Somalia to deliver immediate humanitarian support to the drought-affected people.

During his visit, the PM will hold talks with Jubaland leader Ahmed Madobe and members of the local community over the dispute on the Gedo election.

Jubaland official said troops are in full control of their bases after repulsing Al-Shabaab militants who attempted to infiltrate the city of Afmadow in the Lower Juba region.
